Ange­wandte Archi­tec­ture Chal­lenge work­shop focu­sed on a produc­tion of large scale 1:1 proto­ty­pes. The construc­tion method used for this project employs an indus­trial solu­tion from Clever Contour GmbH. This is an auto­ma­ted produc­tion line (milling, heating, bending and cooling) to produce struc­tures consis­ting of 3D bent plastic profiles, which was previously tested for smal­ler scale design proto­ty­pes. This new tech­ni­que was tested through the construc­tion of an approx. 5m high robo­ti­cally contou­red plastic beam struc­ture during an inten­sive work­shop. The main aim was the design and construc­tion at a larger scale to test the poten­ti­als and limits of the bent-tube structures.
